Addo Design Ltd's founder, Richard Tuxford BA (Hons) ARCH, graduated from Greenwich University; School of Architecture, Design & Construction, in 1996 with an honours degree in architecture.
The journey of learning and perfecting design and technical skills started in private practice at Peter Taylor Associates Ltd. In 1998 Richard was ' head-hunted' for a creative design role at Charles Church Developments. After 6 years, Richard joined Sunley Homes as Technical Coordinator responsible for complex new build and refurbishment projects. He was recruited in 2005 by CDC2020 as Design Manager for the 'Landmark Team', that specialised in mixed use schemes of higher densities at the executive end of the market. The role involved coordination of various projects and build techniques such as traditional and multi-storey buildings of timber frame, concrete frame, steel frame and refurbishment.
Prior to setting up Addo in 2012, the preceding 6 years were spent with a local architectural practice as a Shareholder Director. He specialised in residential and mixed use schemes, including multi million pound houses, multi-storey buildings and Housing Association projects.
In 2014, Richard undertook a contract position at Peter Taylor Associates Ltd where he was based on site for three days a week performing a technical coordination and management role reviewing production information and tender packages to assist the Berkeley site team on the flagship development 'One Tower Bridge'. The role developed into 'Lead Consultant' at which point Richard became a Director for Peter Taylor Associates.
Richard still contracts at PTAL on a project specific basis working on bespoke residential developments, residential master planning projects, mixed use schemes including schools and commercial buildings and also provides a BIM coordination and clash detection service.
